Welding and PWHT

Welder and operator performance qualifications

Performance certification tests are required by a variety of code organizations, including AWS, ASME, and API. There are several other codes that require for the proper certification of welders or welding procedures.

NAVSEA S9074-AQ-GIB-010/24,ABS Part 2 Appendix 9, IBR (…)are just couple of examples.

The SII team offers training to clients for welders and operators on how to do welding to pass the test and earn certification in accordance with that code.

The SII team will issue the welder performance qualification certificate in accordance with the code's requirements.

We also have a great team to train your welders at your facility or in our training center to improve welding quality. We educate them on the various welding positions, the welding process, and how to choose the parameters for each unique product you have. Finally, we mockup a joint or, in some cases, just a test coupon to ensure that they comprehended the procedure.

Welding procedure qualifications

The SII team can help you develop a welding procedure that meets the requirements imposed on you by your clients or the specifications of your products.

Additionally, we will offer no-cost training sessions to your fabrication team to ensure that welding procedures are followed correctly, enhancing quality, and improving production.

One of the most crucial tasks for your organization to accomplish what you need for welding at the lowest practical cost is selecting the appropriate procedures.

  • Pre-Qualified Welding Procedure Specifications (PWPS)

  • Standard Welding Procedure Specifications (SWPS)

  • Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)

  • Procedure Qualification Records (PQR)

The development of welding procedures by a professional welding engineer offers many advantages for your company in many different aspects.

We are not just welding test coupons for some mechanical tests and NDE. We will consult with your welders to evaluate their ability, and the welding procedure will be designed in accordance with their skills. Additionally, if your welders require additional training, our team's most excellent welders can do it.

On the other hand, welding procedures will be a company's asset for decades. Every welding procedure must be developed such that it may satisfy future project needs for the widest possible range of material, thickness, and mechanical tests in addition to the specifications of the current project.

Our weld engineering team, which has worked on international welding projects for some of the largest corporations in the world, can assist you in successfully completing your welding procedures for upcoming potential projects and increasing your chances of landing those projects by providing complete packages of welding procedure documentation for each project.

For your sales department to impress the client that you can complete their orders with acceptable quality, having complete production documents that contain welding procedure packages is crucial.

Post weld heat treatment (PWHT)

One of the most crucial steps following welding is post-weld heat treatment, which may be required depending on the type of material, service product, and welding consumables utilized.

The proper temperature and procedure might be difficult and expensive to choose. Because of this, post-weld heat treatment methods and procedures must always be provided by an expert in order to prevent damage to the component that could lead in scrabbing the entire part.
